Gare Saint-Denis Pleyel Grand Paris Express
Rue de l'Université Paris

The Saint-Denis Pleyel station, designed by Kengo Kuma & Associates, is one of the major hubs of the future Grand Paris Express network. Conceived as both an interchange and an urban landmark, the station’s architecture is characterized by a precise treatment of horizontal lines and large canopies that structure the exterior spaces and guide passenger flows.

Within this framework, Rebeton carried out the upper cladding of the canopies using ACRYTHERM® mineral slabs, developed to meet a dual requirement: ensuring visual continuity with the project’s mineral flooring while complying with the weight constraints imposed by the metal structure. The color of the slabs was developed on a bespoke basis to guarantee this continuity and fully align with the architectural intent.

The slabs, both lightweight and durable, were custom-made using a grooved fixing system. Each piece incorporates precise recesses and controlled tolerances to ensure a rigorous layout and perfect continuity of lines.

The precision of manufacturing and the mineral materiality of the slabs thus transform the technical structure of the canopies into an architectural element fully integrated into the station’s identity.
