Rue de l'Université Paris

Designed by Kengo Kuma & Associates, the Saint-Denis Pleyel station is one of the major hubs of the future Grand Paris Express network. Conceived to accommodate high passenger flows, the station places particular emphasis on circulation spaces, especially staircases, which are essential elements of the user journey.

Within this framework, Rebeton designed and manufactured the interior staircase steps, produced as bespoke ACRYTHERM® mineral slabs to meet the durability and resistance requirements associated with intensive use. The color was specifically developed for the project, in line with the overall architectural expression.

For the exterior staircases, bonded steps were developed, incorporating stair nosings with saw-cut grooves as well as contrasting risers to enhance readability and safety of movement.

The project also includes bespoke tactile paving slabs, seamlessly integrated into the flooring layout and compliant with accessibility requirements. The overall project illustrates Rebeton’s ability to combine technical precision, user safety, and architectural quality in high-traffic infrastructure.
