Located in Neuchâtel, the Serrières student residence is set within an urban fabric shaped by the industrial heritage of the 19th century. Through its scale and the repetitive nature of its program, the building evokes the surrounding former factories, reinterpreting their architectural codes within a contemporary expression.
The facade develops a structured language, composed of regular rhythms and legible grids, organized into modules of one, two, or three elements. This interplay of frames reflects a clear constructive logic inspired by industrial architecture, while adapting to contemporary uses.
Within this framework, Rebeton designed and manufactured bespoke ACRYTHERM® mineral slabs, fully contributing to this architectural expression. The facade is characterized by a smooth mineral surface with no visible fixings, where the precision of the joints and the alignment of the elements reinforce the rigor of the composition.
The slabs are installed using a system of factory pre-mounted concealed clips, eliminating the need for on-site drilling and ensuring the durability of the envelope. Combined with an aluminum rail substructure, they allow for perfect alignment of the bands and mullions across the entire façade.
This project illustrates Rebeton’s ability to combine architectural ambition with technical performance, delivering bespoke mineral façades where construction precision serves a language that is both rigorous and contemporary.
